Cookies Used Around Here

Cookie banners have become so common that most people click them away without reading. Ours is worth a second look only because it is so short. This page explains what the notice does, what it stores and how to undo it.

Nothing that follows you

Lab Retriever sets no tracking cookies. There are no analytics scripts measuring your visit, no advertising tags, no social media plugins and no embedded tools that quietly load code from other companies. When you read an article, the page arrives as a finished file and nothing reports back about what you did with it.

The single stored value

The notice that appears on your first visit offers two buttons. Whichever you choose, your browser saves that answer in its local storage, a small private area each website gets on your own device. We keep it there for one reason: so the notice does not pop up again on every page you open.

Your notice choiceYour browser's local storageAccepted or declinedUntil you clear it

The value never travels to us. It is not attached to your name, your email or your IP address, and it is not shared with anyone. Choosing decline does not limit anything on the site; every article reads exactly the same either way.

Changing your mind

You can wipe the saved choice whenever you like, and the notice will simply ask again on your next visit. The steps vary a little by browser, but the idea is the same:

  1. Open your browser's settings and find the section for privacy, site data or cookies.
  2. Look for the list of websites that have stored data, then search for lab-retriever.com.
  3. Remove the stored data for this site.
  4. Reload any Lab Retriever page and the notice will appear again.

Private or incognito windows forget the choice automatically when they are closed.

Outside links

When an article links to another website and you follow it, that site may set its own cookies under its own rules. Our notice covers Lab Retriever only.
